Why You Feel God Doesn't Care About You

Life is the way it is, almost everyone has experienced significant emotional pain or trauma. These are expected, however, because, well... life.

And while these expected hurts can test your faith, it's the small, everyday pains that build and erode your faith in God's care for you.

For which of these reasons do you feel abandoned by God?

1. Your unanswered prayers

Your overflowing prayer journals are a testament to your despair. But what did you get from God for it?

Nothing.for years.

You prayed in every possible way. You even begged God on your knees to solve your problems.

And he gave you silence in return.

So you've come to the conclusion:“How can God take care of me? If he had, my torment would have touched his heart.”

2. You feel normal

In desperation, you look up Bible verses about God's love for you. And the first thing that comes is:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Johannes 3:16 (ESV)

But it sounds hollow in your heart. Yes, Jesus died for you. But he also died forthe whole world.

In a crowd of over 7 billion people, you are just an ordinary, indistinguishable face.

So how can God care specifically for you?

3.You feel like your problems are insignificant

Between global pandemics, famines, and man-made disasters, it sometimes feels like the world has gone mad.

Compared to the suffering you see on TV every day, how can God take care of your petty problems?

the job you hate, your relationship problems, your doubts about him.Your stuff just doesn't compare. You may even feel selfish when you pray about it.

So you come to the conclusion that God has bigger things to deal with, and now you're sure:"No, God definitely doesn't care about me."

Why Your Feelings Are Wrong

Perhaps one or all of these reasons resonate. But you still hope you're wrong, don't you?

Otherwise you would have given up praying long ago.

But you keep crying out to God becauseyou're desperate to believe that he cares about you.No matter what your feelings say

Good news: your feelings lie. God loves you beyond measure and he has not left you.

how should i know Because the Bible says so. And Jesus himself said that the Bible is God's truth (Johannes 17:17).

1. His fidelity

You are not alone in feeling that God has abandoned you. David felt the same way.

My god, my god, why did you leave me? Why are you so far from saving me from the words of my moans? O my God, I weep by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest. Psalm 22:1-2(ESV)

In fact, Jesus quoted the same verse on the cross. And we know that God cared immeasurably for David and Jesus.

Just like he cares about you.

2. His careful attention

Psalm after psalm, David expressed his most negative and uncomfortable feelings. But he always returned to what God is doing.

Because you formed my heart; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you for I am terribly and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful; my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:13-14(ESV)

With great care and attention, God handcrafted you. Just as He created everything wonderful that you see around you. You are part of his amazing creation.

And because He carefully handcrafted you, you are no ordinary woman.Even among 7 billion people.

3. His thoughts

No matter how much you or someone else in your life downplays your problems, they lie.

Your problems are important to God. BecauseOfthing for him.

How precious are your thoughts to me, O God! How great is their sum! If I counted them, they are more than the sand. I wake up and I'm still with you. Psalm 139:17-18(ESV)

Only someone who cares about you thinks about you all the time. And God has countless thoughts about you.

What to do when you feel like God doesn't care about you?

So now you've admitted that you feel like God doesn't care about you. And you've seen where your feelings lie to you. Feels good, doesn't it?

Be warned though: your feelings will be back with their lies.

so what can you do Be ready with a plan to overcome your thought, "I feel like God doesn't care about me."

Tell him about it

The first thing David did was share his raw feelings with God. How awful it felt to think that God had left him.

I am poured like water and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it's melted in my chest; My strength has dried up like a shard of pottery, and my tongue sticks to my jaw; You lay me in the dust of death. Psalm 22:14-15

Wow. Wasn't it bold of David to be so honest with God? And God did not judge or punish him for it.

In fact, a real relationship is built on honesty and open communication.David's open expression of his anguish at what felt like God's lack of care probably even helped strengthen his relationship with God.

Remember what he did

But David didn't spend all of his prayer time in fear. He also recalled what God has done in the past.

Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praise of Israel. Our fathers trusted in you; they trusted and you set them free. They called to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not ashamed. Psalm 22:3-5(ESV)

Right now it feels like God has been silent in your life for years. But in reality you know he didn't do it.

So consciously remember specific times when He has come through for you.

The unexpected check in the mail. The job offer. The little wonders of everyday life. remember her

praise him

Again, David continued to remember God's past deeds. He also praised him.

I will tell your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you: you who fear the Lord, praise him! All the descendants of Jacob glorify him and fear him, all the descendants of Israel! Psalm 22:22-23 (ESV)

So when you remember the inbox, the job offer, and the everyday miracle, praise God for it.Praise Him for who He is, what He has done and what He will do.

God cares about you

Wow! You admitted, "Lord, I feel like You don't care about me." Then you remembered the evidence that He does, and you praised Him for it.

Your prayer journal suddenly feels a little different, doesn't it?

Because now you know for sure that God has not abandoned you. that he cares about you Because He says so.

Don't five sparrows sell for two pennies? And none of them will be forgotten before God. Even the hairs of your head are all numbered. No fear; You are worth more than many sparrows. Lukas 12:6-7(ESV)

What do you do when you feel like God doesn't care?
